Im Trying To Clicker Train My Parakeet But.....?

LOL ok first of all, you really shouldnt try to clicker train a bird. they are too independent and want things their way. it will never work. secondly consider the type of bird u have. ringnecks are the most independent type of bird (seriously). i have one and he is a complete monster but thats just how they are !! learn to love it cuz if u change her personality she wont be fun anymore. whenever ringnecks are trained to be nicer they usually just stop being themselves altogether and trust me u dont want that. my ringneck is 15 yrs old i had him since he was 3. same thing he would bite me all the time he actually pierced my ear once thats how bad he bit me. but over time it stopped. he never bites me at all anymore because i handled him as much as i could and now hes my best friend. so just give it time like i said ringnecks are very defiant birds. also, when he/she is about 2 to 3 years old u will be able to tell the gender. if it develops a ring around its neck its a boy. girl ringnecks do not actually have a ring neck LOL. but unfortunetly it doesnt develop right away so its just a matter of waiting to see. these birds are awesome and honestly i wouls have 100 of them if i could they may seem nasty but seriously just hang in there trust me ur bird will become a big part of ur life and a best friend. i do absoltuly evetything with my ringneck. i love him sooo much lol it just takes time !!!! and yes ringnecks are very playful. it is very normal for the bird to run back and forth for long periods of time when excited. mine does it everytime i come home cuz hes happy to see me its the best feeling in the world and he doesnt stop until i take him out haha !! well hope i helped !!!!! good luck with ur bird
