What are signs my belly-ring is healing? Am i cleaning it right?

I got my belly-button pierced 5 days ago..And ive been cleaning it with antibacterial soap..I put it on q-tip and move the jewelry up and down to clean the bar and the hole areas, then i rinse it, and put saline solution on it and move my belly-ring up and down..Am i cleaning it right? And how do i know if its healing, its itchy has crust around it before i clean it and white puss stuff but not alot and its red around the holes.
