Would you die from falling in lava?

Strange question however if you could get close enough in the first place you would die virtually instantly. The crust on a lava field itself can be in the hundreds then you have the gases like H2S or methane, sulphur dioxide to name but a few lethal in the doses present. Molten rock is in the thousands of degrees so the radiant heat is so excessive you would ignite before you even landed in it. The pain would probably be very short lived as the heat would be so extreme you would not feel it as the soft tissue would melt only the thick bone of the forehead and you teeth would last more than 30 seconds possibly.
