Can I swim with real hair clip in hair extentions?

Im only worried because im afraid the metal clips might rust or get weak if the go in water. I just really want to wear them swimming, the hair will be fine I know that I just want to know if the clips will last. Please answer from experience not personal opinion I need someone who knows a lot about extentions or if someone has gone swimming with them if theyre clips work just as well.
